A change from Cuba today. I took this at a garden in Kent two days ago and really liked the old windows with those catches which never fasten properly and the textures on the paint and brickwork. This version has had a Lightroom preset added and v2 is the original.
Thanks for looking and for any comments and/or criticisms.
A big thank you to Jason for his UA for Home - very much appreciated!

V1 has an understated beauty with looks just right with the old window and pot plant Ann, nice to have seen the potential of this subtle scene.

I love partial desaturation, it gives a gentle, harmonious feel. And here it really brings out the textures in the bricks and paintwork.
V1 for me.

There is some relation to the Cuban photos, Ann: a faded elegance is at play in both, brought out in this instance by the processing that communicates the soft light of Kent rather than the less subtle Caribbean version. Gentility is the order of the day!"
Beautiful.

A clever and strong composition, Ann, without including a whole pane or frame. The sympathetic desaturation is perfect for subject, and it also takes away the distractions outside the window.

v1 for me too - the desaturation gives a aged feeling to this

Love it - comp, the mood and the desaturation.

Very nice Ann, and I really like the processing.

Hmmm, I like them both, Ann, but am leaning towards V2 because the textures and colours are really nice, especially the brickwork.
You've actually got the same sorta earthy tones here as in the last Cuba image - so that's an interesting link ![]()
Now I do like the original in V2...'cos of those lovely greens. But V1 definitely has the edge in celebrating those windows and brickwork. Very good processing, Ann ![]()
