I spent four out of five days in Glencoe in the rain with nothing to inspire me. I returned to this spot everyday and on the morning of my departure nature gave me a break Thanks for looking.
Simply incredible! What a shot!
Well worth waiting for Alun!
Super shot Alun. I really like the composition and wonderful light, crisp detail throughout, it really draws you in. Wonderful
Brilliant Alun, hope you've dried out now.
Super view,excellent capture.
A fabulous image, beautifully captured...........Sandy
A really fantastic shot - very well done.
A superb image Alun... well worth the wait I would say. Star quality
Well worth the perseverance Alun, good comp and details with some nice light
your perseverance really paid off handsomely in this fine capture......beautiful calendar quality shot
I know the feeling......great image!.....tp
You are an undoubted master of landscape photography, Alun, and I'm so glad the weather bucked up for you before heading home, allowing you to capture this beautifully composed and balanced shot with such detailed and interesting f/g.
And I like the way the outline of the river bed echoes the shape of the Great Shepherd.
superb Alun, so thats where you've been hidding, glad it was worth it, love the snow on those tops.
Excellent POV and stunning execution make this a quality landcscape image. Outstanding!
Very impressive composition. The view straight down the river has enhanced the feeling of depth. I like the detail and light on the rocks that you have selected for the foreground. Your perseverance has certainly paid off.
I shall have to have a scout around for this position next time I visit!
Very well done.
A beauty Alun, loving the clouds across the distant mountains.
Perserverance has already been used several times, so I'll congratulate you on your determination. A superbly exposed and composed image Alun.
That's a great shot
Glad to see it wasn't a complete wash out mate, lovely!!!
superb capture Alun, well worth hanging around for the light.
Well worth your persistence.
I had intended driving home at 5.30 am but I'm glad I stayed around. Thanks for the positive feedback. Plenty of stuff to process now. I took all the tourist shots but wanted to get a different view and concentrated therefore on Stob a Ghlais Choire rather than Stob Dearg.
like the colours on the rock in the river.............very well done, stands out from most of other shots ive seen of this.
well worth going back alun to be rewarded with this stunner top shot
Stunning shot mate..I got a couple from the same spot after we meet but nowhere as good as this.
Wonderful stuff Alun. The colour clarity and luminosity are just stunning.
Great image Alun. Had a similar trip to Glencoe a few years back but didn't come back with anything of this quality. Top work sir.
This is absolutely gorgeous - the play of light across the landscape, the detail, composition - a superb image and well worth all those return visits.
Many thanks to you all for your comments. I really appreciate all of them. Big thanks to Dave cor his UA too!
O yes it wos worth whait fantastic shot - very well done.
I told your lacky nice to see
Mother Nature often rewards the patience of people, and this sight must have raised your spirits and filled your heart with delight. A place I've wandered like you wishing the light would do something and the clouds would break, just a little.
Beautiful uplifting image from the side of The Buachaille, one that will stay with you for some time and I'm sure there will be more to come too.
A cracking image Alun, fantastic light and detail. Must've been a good feeling to be standing there seeing this after all the poor conditions before.
Tomasz - I was very lucky!
Dougie - many thanks. Glencoe is a wonderful place. The colours in the riverbeds are truly striking and in this instance I was like a kid in a sweetshop. I don't think I'd survive the summer midges so it looks like a return visit next Easter!
Barney - humbled by your giving of your UA. Many thanks. Really chuffed.
I'm really chuffed that you got so stunning a shot for your efforts Alun. A tribute to persistance, and your skill.
Great shot Alun and a reward for your patience.
Thanks Martin and Geoff. A couple of hours of good morning light amidst such scenery more than compensated for the dull, wet and overcast previous four days.
Patience pays off. excellent image. The lighting is superb. have had some wet days in Glencoe myself and midgy! paul
Cheers Paul. The midges find me particularly arousing. If only I had the same effect on my own species....
