Great shot, where was it taken? Shame about the white fence. I'm starting an assignment on horse racing soon - any tips?

Not quite Beechers Brook but very well captured action. Impressively detailed Smile

Super shot, lovely weather you had for it. I'm hoping to go to one on Monday but I can't find any listing concerning start times...are they usually at 10am or am I completely lost? LOL!

KaT - taken at a small private racecourse called Kimble near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. I know what you mean about the fence but can't get away from them at racecourses! As for tips well practice is probably a key word for the action photos - getting the focusing, shutter speed, framing, where to stand etc all takes time. I've only had a go at a few meets and its still not easy. Another tip is to look at the wide picture but not just concentrating on the action - go to the ring to see the horses led up, the crowds always provide opportunities, as well as officials. Keep an eye on my portfolio as I plan to upload some more in the next week and let me know how you do.

I'm afraid it sounds like your completely lost! They normally start between 12.00 and 14.00 but always good to get there a little early to beat the rush. Which one are you going to?

Try looking here for whole of March fixtures near the end are Easter Monday's events.

Thanks, yeah I'm hoping to go to the Paxton meet in Gloucestershire. Right-o, I'll probably turn up at 12 then as I've been scouring the net for times but can't find any! Might pop a message on the boards about it now. Cheers for the link. Smile

No trouble, looking forward to some photos??

Ours started at 1300 but I was helping with car parking (free entry) so had to be there at 10.30! Long day but very social!
