...lies on the beach at Talmain on the side of Tongue Bay. Some of you may remember I posted a similar image back in 2010 it's V2.
Weather and time have claimed a few planks from the old boat over the last few years of storms on the Pentland Firth.

I think I've shed a few planks since 2010, Dougie. I could do with shedding a few pounds instead.
Great clarity in the textures here. The sky hasn't changed much!

Both super shots.... V2 edges it

Beautiful composition and detail. I like v.1 better, the boat seems to have a glow which seems to give it life.

More life in V1; more sadness in V2.

Lovely detail in what remains of this boat. It would have a few tales to tell.....

Since 2010 even more of the timbers have been lost and the decay continues. I always have a feeling of sadness when I see old boats abandoned like this, yet at the same time delight as they do make such excellent photographic subjects, Dougie.
I love the sepia toning in the 2010 shot but it's nice to see the natural colours too this time.

Version 1 Dougie Which is a cracking image and I doubt if there is any reason for V2.I think the treatment takes away the credibility of the wreck.

Great subject composition, well captured. V1 my choice, but V2 has an appeal to the wreak as it's eroding with the elements. You have explained the V2 difference! James Wink

Yep Dougie,a few planks gone missing since 2010.
All the better for it for more ''grottiness'' I feel.
Good shot.

When you consider the amount of weather this wreck has seen in the course of 3 years, thare's not a great deal of difference..a couple of planks, but not much else.

Two wonderfully worked variants Dougie. Although I am all in favour with new ideas and new approaches in photography, I am rather bent towards the original. A very well observed and crafted composition, which has been very well captured from a great point of view, whilst at the same time you have captured clarity and quality in depth.

Superb photography

Cracking shot !!.....lovely detail in this old wreck....but prefer the 'ambience' of the sepia tones in V2 !!
