Took this in Sunland Park the other morning.....ain't he beautiful? We've been getting a real plethora of bird species here in the Footies, some of which I've never seen, including this grand fella. Not that we don't have variety already but for some reason I'm seeing more than usual and it's been a real bonanza as far as photos are concerned. Oh, btw...this is officially known as a male Western Bluebird.

Yeah, up til the past couple of years they haven't been too common, but now I'm seeing 'em everywhere. Pretty little critters...

Compared to your excellent Sparrow shot, this falls short.

The image is extremely noisy; it has to be the worlds bluest bluebird;sharpening and contrast are too hgh; colour balance doesnt look right at all, - at least to me.

Its likely that youve made changes in Lightroom to the original, and if you used RAW, you can go back and try again. LR is good at reducing noise, and it can alter white balance and be very accurate, if you remember the light conditions at the time of shooting.

Ive tried a mod, - it looks different, but I cant say if its more accurate. Noise is reduced a lot, as is contrast and sharpening, and Ive cropped it to an 8 X 10 format that places the bird in a better position in the frame, with less wire fence.

Regards

Willie

Looks pretty good to me, but I'm on a tablet, not a big screen. A good image for beginners to see a good effort of the type.
