THEY FLY !!!

Earlier I had posted some Monarch caterpillars, then the chrysalis.

Eventually I found 4 chrysalis's in my garden-- kept a watch on them-- and -- no surprise-- I was caught off guard today. I saw 3 richly colored --brand new monarchs flying about.

Today's image is a compositie of an image made two days ago in which you can see its color of the chrysalis begin to change-- and my attempt to capture the new butterfly today-- --The butterflies, in a word- were hyper!

***** My first attempt to combine two images with CS3-- The chrysalis is overly large-- I did not know how to make it smaller---

***** Thank you to Brian bricurtis for some much appreciated photoshop tips on re-sizing images.

I appreciate the work you have done here, good enough for a reference book illustration, but the chrysalis intrigued me more than the butterfly, with its droplets, sheen and detail....beautiful.
