This young lad, fully dressed in safety gear, was cleaning the lock gates in Rochdale Canal.
He was being "supervised " by 3 ....yes 3.... gaffers
See V2 .
You might need to look closely for the third one.
He's missed a bit!!! lol
well spotted Barbara
One at work , and indeed 3 looking.
Just his feet
two cracking captures barbara wonderful detail and colour v1 fr me today nice one
a job I wouldnt fancy too near water for me and my balance with heights is scary but a well seen picture and interesting to realise it DOES happen - good shot
It is the nature of workmen one to work two to watch it is pretty general....
Love the boots hanging down! Are you sure there wasn't a 4th who had gone for the tea and bacon butties! The lad gets all the dirty work ....as usual! Looks as if he has his work cut out for him. Super shots.
Hard work this supervising lark Barbara, yep I saw his boots.. well spotted..
great candid Barbs
Wonderful set of image babara all very beautiful ,V1 is my favorite with great detail and colour, very well done.
Nothing like full employment. Junior must be the one working! Like the colours and your POV Barbara.
Yes only three now with government cuts !
Use your vote on Thursday !
two great images v1 for me
Could do with some of that safety gear over here, Barbs! Well spotted and captured. Carol
Two excellent images, for me it has to be V1. Very typical these days Barbara, to many chiefs and not enough Indians ~ so to speak
Yep! Love those boots just in view in V2! Seems to sum up modern-day working life. Bet the 3 are all from Health & Safety!!
Two good shots Barbara - typical work men !
Management is a heavy responsibility, it has to be shared. 2 great images of men at work(?).
Nothing quite like a bit of delegation haha
Well spotted, Barbara. Typical that one of the gaffers is even sitting down on the job. I expect the youngster was on work experience
Great journalistic capture
It won't do him any harm!
Love those crossed feet! So relaxed, feet can be very expressive.
Made me smile Barbara, good details.
If that was in Vietnam, they would lose their jobs.
Well spotted and captured Barbara.
2 Great captures.
Very nice details in these.
oh brilliant just spotted the feet !!!!! well at least they were not drinking tea !!!! great capture
Well spotted, sorted exposure and composition, lock gates being generally gloomy bits of landscape.
Well captured reportage shots. Well seen too! A
Well spotted and taken - love the title too
only 3 lol great shot
It's a hard life, lol.
Three of them...oh well it's yer 'elf n safety I suppose. I can see that they are doing a super job of supervising too .
More chiefs than indians. Great images Barbara.
Oh yes, that does look like it's pretty hard work to me.
-> It is a natural safety procedure to have only one lonely guy clean the lock, just in case the lock gate would suddenly open, this way we keep the casualty rate to a minimum. Company legislations & rules...
-> Or maybe the tea that one of the gaffers brewed earlier on is that fantastic that there is just no need to waste that lovely cup of hot tea..... it aren't the same drinking it cold you know...
-> But there was most likely a drastic shortage of that all important safety gear! Damn resession...
Nicely observed there girl!
Great shots V2 nice boots ------Milky
Sounds like Sri Lanka Babs, one person working. three supervising.. nice clear shots. well done.
Nice set of colours in V1...and I noticed a pair of hardworking supervising boots in V2
Two cracking shots of men at work, Barbara, V1 for me.
V1 looks a bit of a drop steady now
N,1 Barbara for me,I see Kermit the frogs cousin is working hard,,Lol. Have a look at the lads helmet,,
Brilliant! Love the boots in v.2 Barbara.
I teach Photography under our District Council and all District Councils employ 300 gaffers per worker. Thats why you pay your council tax! This young lads lucky to have only 3! Great shots!
