This forms part of an ongoing project on light/Image projection on to people, I haven't started with buildings yet. "Time" is also forming part of an exhibition Im putting together for the back end of Oct in Exeter about "identity". This section was from a video shoot with April about how the media tells you who you are, how to behave etc. The advert was for some beauty product or other. April looks a bit like the model in the advert so that enforces the concept of "you too can look like this if...."

The image was then tweaked in photoshop

You have lost me with the description of your projects 'Light' - 'Time' - 'Buildings'-'Identity' etc. but good luck with your exhibition.

I'm not sure I can see the message you are trying to convey. If I'm honest, all I'm wondering is what that thing is that the clock is projected onto? TBH, it all looks a bit of a jumble and without your intro I would never guess the image was from a commercial, so the story falls down.
I can't really critique other than that as the exposure, composition etc is all. Ery subjective.

Thanks guys. As I said its a work in progress, the image was a gap between filming April, which I wasnt happy with so Im shooting it again next week. I take it all on board and will make corrections and improvements as I go. Its a tad scary putting this exhibition together.

Hi, Lee. I have had a look at your website and enjoyed it a lot.
I've been looking at this "Time" image for some time in an attempt to find the concept you are attempting to develop, but find the harsh shadows and indistinct parts difficult to appreciate. The background advert is nice and soft, but the picture of April is strong, and the blend doesn't work for me. If you want to convey that "You, too, can look like this", then I think the two images need to blend better, rather than be so contrasting.
I cannot make out what the thing is beneath the clock on the left.
April looks as if she has a moustache.
I'm not sure if there is anything else that I can say to help you at all.
Good luck with the exhibition, you are very brave.
Pamela.

Difficult to critique Lee, as the projected image casts a colour onto various parts of the image. Ive loaded a mod, looking at it as if its a standard shot, and removed that blob by her lip. I think thats really what you need to be careful with, - unwanted parts of the projected image ending up in odd places?

Regards

Willie

Difficult. I have to applaud the attempt and effort. Not sure the idea works as things are rather jumbled and confused. The projected image has a very strong cyan cast which infuses the whole subject and cyan is a weak cold colour which doesn't help too much. I find it interesting, but I think some work is still needed. I would try warming things up a bit.
