I discovered this tiny flower on the edge of some local woods a couple of days ago. It only took five minutes or so to get the picture, and I'm glad I wasn't using a tripod because the poor thing was getting blown about so in the gusting wind it was hard enough chasing it by hand, so to speak. Eventually I tracked it down and have managed an acceptably sharp image, I think.

Identifying it took half of yesterday. I am 99% certain that it's a small-flowered crane's bill, geranium pusillum; since it measures less than 8mm across I have not tried to make it fill the frame. I just think it's rather pretty as it is.

Good composition Bill, and good use of DOF.
I'm still a point, shoot and run artist. None of my photos takes more than seconds, what dedication - or patience - you have to spend 5 minutes on a shot.
Nice one.

Thats what I like Bill, don't just take a shot and upload, there seems to be a story behind every shot which you are the master at telling.

Thank You

Tried photographing a small flower in the garden a couple of days ago but found it impossible in the wind. This is a lovely, delicate capture.
