This is the rear of the building,the ship was built on the fore ground the poles are to give you the feel of it's size.but it was much bigger.
is there any thing i could have done to improve the fore ground etc

Hello, i have had a go at a mod for you. At first I tried small alterations, but it had no impact on the foreground, the main problem being the fg is way over exposed so you have lost all the detail but when I solorized the image you could see the detail was there in the image, you can see the flagstones etc. So I aterered the histogram curves quite dramatically and then went on to do all the basic saturation, contrast etc, and finally a selective sharpen. Hope you like it

This is the best image you have taken to date, well done. I don't care if the slabs are over exposed it works in a artistic way it just fits together with the lines of the buildings and the posts. I really could see this as a poster on the inside wall of the building.
Ok, as you want to alter the foreground after making a copy select "Curves" click on the centre of the line and drag it towards the bottom right corner, forget the rest of the image, just pull it ubtil the slabs look right. Next apply a layer mask and reomve the effect from everywhere except the slabs. Now go to "Levels" and in the default box select "Midtones Darker" or move the midtones pointer to the right.

Hope you enjoyed the exhibition...the foreground is where the original slipways were set. Last time I stood there it was jut waste concrete ground, so they've done a good job re-generating the site.
The eye is naturally drwan to building so I don't think the fg is a major problem
Hi Billy, best image you've taken. You've got your camera settings right and come up trumps, well done. I've done a mod for you and reduced the brighness of the pavement area by adjusting it in Photoshop camera raw, using the adjustment brush, as this targets the area you want to adjust, rather than the whole image. I've also made adjustments to the sky, again with the adjustment brush to given the clouds more definition and depth. If you have a ND filter this may improve your images by cutting down the bright area's in your shots or maybe a polarizing filter. Again, it's trial and error until you get them how you want it. Hope you like the mod and now you've raised the bar with this image, you need to keep up the good work. Well done.
