I think it works so well, the framing is what I like most. Also goes well with the poem and to me it looks frightened, if not frightening.

I'm interested that Dave thinks he looks sad - I can see that too now, although I'd thought him scary to start with. It's all in the imagination.

The tight crop/close up and tones worked well and I could really feel his faces presses against the window.

Yes, the dof does make it more menacing. I can almost feel the rough textures too.

apologies for not commenting earlier Moira but I simply ran out of time, club night and I had to dash - out most of today so you can imagine things got pretty desperate - the picture presented today shows good tones and textures and is well sharp. I rather like the treatment you have used and prefer it to some of the other similar shots you have shared.
