I love this!
If you don't mind me saying..try a crop removing the top dark bit...it makes the picture into an art work! His face is just surrounded by flowers with no other distraction!!

Lovely image. Subject and setting work really well. I agree with Polly; getting rid of the hedge would improve it, but easy to see room for improvement afterwards. Grin
