Young chap who came to a profile shoot session I was doing in Bradford... got a bit carried away, he does have some normal shots too, but quite like this huge-hand look for some reason Wink

Quality shot, Ade.

Really well held at the bright end; superbly dealt with at the low end - tohose dark tones in his suit are really well handled.
My only criticism would be with his hands. Could be subjest movement or could be too wide an aperture resulting in just-too-short a DoF. By making his hands such a prominent feature, I think a much greater DoF would better suit the concept.

An opinion for what it's worth Smile

9/10. Go to the front of the class!

was F8 Bill so it'll be a shallow DOF rather than motion blur

I'll certainly try it at F16 or something next time - see what you mean, may be a different feel to the shallower DOF.

I assumed with the different focus on hands/face, it guided the user to look at the face - we're drawn to the sharper bits and bobs.

Look forward to seeing it!

If you wanted to get really arty (rather than business oriented), you could also try going really short, say f/4 or 2.8, and just focus on the knuckles.....worth a try if you set this sort of thing up again. Maybe on a docker with massive hands and big tattoos! Wink

I really like the pose and the cheeky grin makes the shot work so well. It would be nice to see a version with a greater DOF, but this works well as it is.

You could photograph Popeye just to please Bill. I love this and the guy is young enough to enjoy it too. Looks like he had fun along with you Ade. He's be a "handy" guy on an Aircraft Carrier to wave the planes in on a stormy sea.

There`s enough detail in the face to make the shot interesting.

My only crit is with the hands, there neither here nor there.
