I found this lady's hands and pincushion ring quite fascinating. She was a most accomplished and creative seamstress.
V2 is the color version. I thought I would like it better, but I seem to prefer the mono for this image. What do you think?
At first I thought they were pinned to her hand.
V2 all the way Joline !! A great capture
Craftspeople's hands are always good subjects. I dithered a bit between mono and colour - but V1 is about the hands and the character, not the fabric and pins...
Both versions work for me Joline.
Definitely V1, it puts emphasis on those busy hands
Fewer distractions with V1, which allows the viewer to concentrate on the subject.
An interesting image, very well observed and captured Joline...
I usually go for colour Joline,
but in this case I prefer the mono.
I think the pincushion ring is a bit of a distraction in colour !!
Unusual pin cushion but how useful. I prefer the colour version Joline.
I like the mono better, but only after I studied the color awhile,
What a great idea, Joline, and a great capture. Carol
A fascinating ring which I would have thought would get in the way when working.
The mono does work well for reasons above.
V1 is a very fine shot Joline and the mono is effective however, for me colour wins almost every time.
mono with the pin cushion coloured
I want one of them
great shot well seen and executed too love the coloured version
Never seen a pin cushion like that. Mono all the way for this one.
Colour for me.
The overall image works very well in mono, Joline, but you get the true splendour of that ring in colour
For me, anyway.
So very well seen!
