Tortoiseshell.

First Small Tortoiseshell butterfly to arrive in the garden this year..........unfortunately it chose to pitch on wet/soggy rain battered Scabious.

I have added a texture to help me present in a reasonable fashion.

Thanks for stopping by.

A fabulous close up Brian, the detail and colours are simply glorious and the textured background works really well. Not seen very many of these this year, they are in sharp decline according to Butterfly Conservation

Yes I have read that Ed - I was very surprised to see this one in the garden - there is nothing else about.

None round here as yet Brian,I have missed the Butterflies with all this soggy weather at the moment.Hopefully they will arrive when the big yellow ball in the sky decides to shed a little light on my garden.
Lovely colours here, bright textures but they do draw you into the frame.

Beautifully captured and presented example of this butterfly, Brian: wonderful detail and colours and the processing is sensitively and artistically applied.

Poor old Butterfly trying to get nectar out of this rain bashed Scabious. A cleverly extricated image . Very good xx
