Thank you for all your comments & votes yesterday. I agree it would have been better not to have the sculpture where it was. However we had a couple of obstacles in our way!!! Susan & I arrived early at the spot with no one else around and as we were setting up our cameras on our tripods and attaching our remotes etc a young lady in a head scarfe turned up with a Fuji Finepix & wide angle lens on a huge big tripod and set herself up in a prime position. there was a slight glow of pink in the sky but to get that in the image we needed to be where she was. On her LCD screen she had a lovely image. She stayed in the same place for most of the time we were there. Then as we were setting ourselves up for a different view from what we had taken two of her friends arrived. One with a tripod & camera & one without and they promptly stood in front of us then proceeded to take their photos, then to top it all off the 3 of them stood on the fountain surround (Right in front of us) & took time delays of themselves. 2 with scarves billowing in the wind & one with long hair blowing. Not the image I was hoping to get!!!! So this image was taken when it was quite a bit darker. (You can see her wandering off in the right of the image. The joys of taking photos in a public place!!!! You take what you can.

Come on, admit it, you used that shutter speed just so that you could fade that woman out, didn't you? Super shot and well worth the wait.
Yes Steve I am certainly not backwood in coming forward but I just couldn't be bothered. I would have expected her to move on after a short time. But as Brian says there's nowt stranger than folk.

These b****y photographers are a nuisance and soooo inconsiderate, aren't they?! This sort of thing usually happens to me, just when I get nicely composed, someone will come along and pose right in the centre of view whilst a friend takes their photo - then they change positions, and I've to wait all over again!
Anyway, this is a nicer capture than yesterdays, better positioned and has more of the fountain's base included. Excellent work again, Jenni, like this a lot ![]()

That sort of thing happens all the time .... its life sadly
All my best shots have got hair in the way or an arm that shot out ....
like this one alot despite your difficulties
Its a great image Jenni.
Your little story made me chuckle in the best possible way.
