The beach at Uige, Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides on a day when I think the weather would be described by a Scotsman as 'soft'. There was low mist, drizzle and a stiff breeze. I spent a happy twenty minutes walking up and down the beach wondering where the best perspective would be and found it quite a difficult decision. This is one of my favourite angles from the images I took. Thanks for looking and for any comments and/or criticisms - and thank you to Brian (Bricurtis) for pointing out that the horizon wasn't straight on my original upload! Looking again - I think it could still be out. Sorry to those of you who had already commented and voted...

Minimalist, atmospheric, beautifully composed.
I don't think a degree either way off the pure horizontal is a killer!

So elegant in it's simplicity, Ann: a beautiful shot over the sea to a land mass shrouded in most and sitting in a pool of pale turquoise.

It's a lovely image Ann, I love the soft focus feel to the image, it's a great composition with the waves running up the beach a great lead in to the image

Brilliant in its simplicity.
As for the horizon, I find hazy sea horizons very difficult, as the degree of haze can vary across the frame.

I think it may be described as a balmy day, weather-wise, Ann. A perfect arguement for the case of less is more. Magically simple and yet full of atmosphere.

My question would be, where exactly IS the horizin? That aside, this soft beach day has allowed you a beautiful image!

The mist is up and down so I think the horizon looks A OK.
The image as a whole is delightful Ann, as good as I recall and enjoyed at the time when I was there. A wall hanger here, you must be running out of space.
Nice diagonals with waves and the little ripples, a shell or a piece of seaweed is always a lovely bonus.

You picked a superb perspective, Ann. Beautiful mistiness. I might be wrong, but it looks as though you haven't got a sea/sky horizon to judge what is straight anyway.
