Made this image just today. I have used 4 different images to make this one. My wife sitting on a bridge, dog was sleeping on the same bridge elsewhere, Backgroung of misty mountain taken on the same day and the hat extracted from some where else. I wanted to create a fantasy or ideal scene/comp. I want critique about my 2nd attempt on this technique. Deep

Hi,
It is easy to fault someone elses image, its not so easy to come up with the sort of image that you have produced.
I think that the idea is really good and the effort that you have put into it is teriffic.
Now for the silly bits:
The rails on both sloping sides of the bridge have been sliced off showing that the bridge is a cut and paste job. Mabe you could remove them?
The top of the right hand side of the bridge is partly missing.
The way that the dog is positioned looks as if its laying on a slope,
The slanting line of the grey tiles draws the eye away from the image, it could be cropped out.
The image is very good, please do not let my comments put you off. I believe that making an image on a computer is just the same as making one in a studio using props. The image has to be seen in the mind first. Something that many people can not do.
I hope that I have helped.
Michael.

You are starting to get the idea, however the image still look like they have simply been pasted on top of the background image, look at the each layer, and try to blend them in as if they were meant to be there. A lot of practice is needed until you begin to see a piece which is almost seamless. I am no expert, however I can see clearly where the image is failing. Please do not take this to heart, and continue with your creativity. In addition please ensure that you have a clear purpose or a narrative behind the image that you are trying to create. Put in down on paper, do not simple play around with your images in your mind, as you will ultimately not reach your true potential.
Regards Nathan

Banehawi, thanks for your comments and upload. I could't think on those lines. But can you please explain how did you do that, which tool did you use? There is a drastic improvement and it now really seems to be believable Regards. Deep
Sure Deep.
I first cropped out a small section that included your wife, and in the process, made it level - I have also uploaded it to show it so its clear; I saved this image with a new name; then, with the original image, which still have youre wife in it, I used the clone tool to cover over her completely with the existing background. I then had an image which was all background. I adjusted contrast. Then I saved the image. I now have two images.
Open both images, side by side; using the MOVE tool, select the image of your wife, and DRAG it onto the background; position it where you like; then, on the upper layer, which should be the one with your wife in it, add a layer mask; you should see a white box appear beside the layer; now select the brush tool set opacity to 50% and flow to 15%, and using black as your foreground colour, paint the edges of the image of you wife to blend it into the background. When you are happy with it, go to Layer>Flatten and save the image.
Hope this is helpful,
regards
Willie

Very interesting composition.I can't believe that it's a montage. Very nice and encouraging attempt.
