It's that tree again!
I wasn't 100% satisfied with my last attempt at this gnarled and twisted old birch tree, so I've been back for a second attempt.
A few variations to choose from.
I hope you enjoy and thanks for taking a look.
They have so much character these windswept trees,Lovely collection Graham.
Lovely shots all! V1 has it for me.
Gorgeous light and I love that tree!!!!!!
Wonderful light, Great set of images
I love 'lone tree' piccies. These are great.
V1 for me. Reminds me of a twisted gnarled old man.
V2 for me Graham because I like the tighter composition.
Was this your Boxing Day trip? Looks like it was a bit cold.. Lovely light though. I like the pink glow on the horizon on V1. Hard to choose which I like the most but V3 appeals next, I think.. Using the tree to hold back the rising sun looks good.
Lovely set of images of this lovely looking tree, I too love lone trees in images and this one is crying out to be photographed,I like all the versions but ver1 has that really barren cold deserted feel which I find adds to the image - really nice set
I'm with Jeanie on this one - V1 and V3, but V1 is defnitely my favourite. I love the colours in V1 and that is definitely it's best side
And, anyway, you just can't go wrong with a lone tree shot
Yep Jeanie, Boxing Day, but the afternoon outing and it's sunset.
And it was a tad cold !!
Thanks too Tom, Andy, Charity, Ian, Viki, Shaks, Tony, Lorraine and Sue, and all those who've voted en route.

agree with sue lol!
Lovely images, nicely captured.
Great set of shots, I like v1 as well.
V1 is excellent, strong and stark. I love weather-beaten trees, I tend to adopt them. I could have fun with this one, but checking out the map position it's a bit inaccessible!

No Moira, right next to the road between Owler Bar and Fox House.
A good set, quite like V3 for the different approach
V1 for for me Graham, i have the same frame composition but in snow on a huge canvas in the conservatory, one of my favourite pictures. Its not one of my favourite places though on Big Moor, just some where easy to see by the roadside and to gallop past on the road up from Owler Bar. It is a fantastic scuptured tree though and im sure like me you found it many years ago, the strange thing is in 30 years i have seen trees reach massive proportions but this one hasnt changed at all.
All the best,
all of these work very well and the tones in each are so nice
hhhhmmm, have to say v4 ticks all the boxes for me!
Thanks Dave, at last! My fave too.
Thanks all who've passed by and commented and/or clicked. All very much appreciated. But on this occasion, I think I got no. 1 right.
All photos here are relly great..brilliant work..
lovely capture Graham. All version are excellent but my fav. would be 1.
Wow fantastic shots - have a great new year - Debs
Like the warm light in V4 Graham.
All four are no less than great, of course - but it's V4 for me (and, yes, I did decide before I read your admission - but why didn't you post it first if it was your favourite? You should always have faith in your passion) I love the life in V4, I think that is why it ticks the boxes! Must get up there and have a go at this tree myself, sometime I think.

Be happy to show you where it is.
Well, I can read a map (despite being female...) - but it's more fun if someone takes you there, so I might take you up on that offer... x
