Whilst I was on the beach at Redcar last week I was struck by the geometry of this structure on the beach, tripod-like (and I think indicating the landward end of the submerged pipeline which featured) and its industrial linkage with the steel works in the background. In between there is the most glorious sweep of the beach at Coatham leading out towards the South Gare of the River Tees. The wind was blowing a very low level storm of fine driven sand... I was fearful for the camera!

Well spotted and captured, like the low angle of capture. Carol

... And a hat on at a very jaunty angle. That's what makes it work for me. Plus the softness of the blown sand.

A first-class composition, Mike. The horizon is perfectly placed, the tripod marker also - and the cloud looks as if it could be steam emerging from a rather enigmatic funnel. Superb tones for a bright, windy and chilly Teesside day.

Bill

Nice one, Mike. Wide-angle too. The large version shows the windblown sand.
