Whilst I'm on a people theme...
This is a chap runs a small tourist shop on the outskirts of Hammamet. The impression I got was that life was a constant struggle, he was excessively thin and seemed to wear the same clothing for our entire stay. The shop was on a busy highway route and the stock was always dusty - I didn't envy him his job.
In buying something from him he was keen to give me my change in UK currency - a consequence of Tunisia's closed economy. This was relatively common - several time we were stopped and asked if we could change UK currency for Tunisian Dena (apologies if this isn't the correct spelling).
Right - I better get back to work!
