One of the tunnels on the Monsal Trail provides relative shelter from the rain. Possibly one of the more drier locations in Derbyshire this Saturday.

There was some water penatrating the Victorian brickwork, and follow the warnings do not touch the sides. I did by accident the decades of soot gets everywhere.

The third image is a hand held at 2000iso

Happy New Year for 2013.

V3 is my favourite. One because I do like a square crop, but I also prefer the composition.

A fine set, Gavin, v2 for me as well. The textures show better and the pov puts you on the road into the tunnel, more dynamic than the static, standing at the side.

Recognised this in the thumbnail - opening up the tunnels has transformed one of our favourite walks. I think I'm with Chris on V3 - crop plus tighter bend.

V2 or v3 - V2 pulls you in, I almost feel propelled. V3 is more sinister/mysterious making me wonder what's waiting around the bend.

Three images which pull you into their voids from the start. Each rather eerie and somewhat threatening. Image number 3 is simply brilliant, well observed and composed.

Nice set of shots with good colour Gavin. My favourite is number 2 but in a landscape format, i now know where to go when it's raining, hope you make it out of the tunnel for the New Year.
Have a good one, Trevor.
