A moody evening down at Godrevy with the 'gang', watching the waves dancing over the foreshore geology was a fabulous experience ... a far cry from the relative calm of this summer.
Cheers for looking in,
Nice subtle tones Paul.
blimey that looks like it could have been a slippery perch....
Nah, it was definitely a Mackerel, Maddie, Perch is a fresh water fish Great to hear from you m'dear, hope you are well and the big guy is looking after you
Lovely bit of water movement there Paul. Like the splash in the bg too
Cheers m'dear, you wouldn't believe how many attempts it took to get the distant splash 'just so' ... on some shots you can't make out the island, let alone the lighthouse
Fine timing with the splash Paul
LOL you big Cod
LOL ... no need to keep Carping on about it
Cheers Mr Spurdens
Great composition, Paul and trademark quality technique, timing and processing....but
You new that was coming!
I think the drama of the capture, and therefore the image as a whole, would really benefit from more oomph!
The dark rocks are just about spot on, but the sky and sea could both stand considerably more punch, imo, and a more poswerful image would result.
Try a duplicate layer set to multiply at around 60% opacity with a layer mask painted to protect the darkest tones (I tried a white mask and painted with a black brush at 40%). It really gives a much more dramatic sense of light for the lighthouse to play against.
See what you think...it's only an opinion, of course, but I think it works for the better!
Cheers...counting down, mate! How are the butterflies?
Aye Bill, does work mate cheers ... but [you knew there was one ] ... well, there isn't one actually, a little long winded but I can see what you're getting at
Ta for that mate and the butterflies are all in check ... for now ... as me at about 1.45pm on Monday
