With the howling gale and rain outside, outdoor photography has been impossible. I took a look around the empty pool and I spotted these two scorpionflies trying to shelter from the wind. A quick photo shoot in the lounge and then back outside to a slightly more sheltered spot.

V2 for me as well Carol, lovely shot. Are these another species you have cobbled together in the lab....
Weird and wonderful are the ways of Nature.
Andy
They are posing so beautifully. How do you do it Carol? Super shots as always.
The weird and wonderful, with shadows. More amazing stuff, Carol, new to me as well.
Dave
And yet more unusual creatures
Two super captures, Carol, I can't decide between the two as my fave today, so it's half a vote for each! ![]()

....like twin pets. "Hold it there......now, smile!" You just have a way with your insects.
Great shots.
I have only ever found one of these and that was a while ago. It scared the life out of me when it appeared from the grass it was hidden in.
Andy
I love their noses, they lookalike a cartoon insect.
