I slightly enlarged the catchlights in Tyke's eyes and used the burn brush to darken the background a little more. Tyke is an excellent model as long as he gets his doggy treats and the postman doesn't come to the door whilst he's posing.
Lovely portrait.Well done.
A cracker. Carol
It's a nice shot, but the work on the catchlights looks too artificial (less is more!); and to me it looks like it's been cut out, so again a little less work on the b/g might improve it.
I would suggest making the catchlights less perfectly round, try making them a sort of crescent shape which might look more realistic.
Thank you all for your clicks and comments. And thanks for the advice, Tom. Looking again I can see what you mean. I put a selection around TYke so the burn brush wouldn't affect him, so that's maybe why you think he looks cut out. I'll take onboard the catchlight advice.
I love it (Tyke reminds me of a Yorkie i once had called Sasha - she was a treasure)
Excellent capture, wonderful writing up, a lovely story of Tyke..
BTW, thank you for your comment on Wirksworth Church. I'm really delight to learn that you are going to pay a visit..hope that you will enjoy your visit and bring back more photos. I'm looking forward to seeing them. I missed one carving on the wall.
A really lovely shot.
