Thank you for the comments (some really funny) on the pot calling the Kettle .....

There will be a few more from this great location, It is a challenge to get the shot as the lighting is varied to say the least, this steam train was in an almost dark shed and then pointing out to the very bright sunshine was difficult. I used the flash to get the detail of the engine and f11 at 1/8 at ISO 100, then processed in ps Raw and elements 7

Camera:Canon EOS 50D
Lens:Sigma 10-20

Oh well, you've done a great job here, taking the picture against the light source, and got some great detail here in spite of that! Super pic,
Johanna

Linda, another great image, and I see using the same camera as I am (Not at BWC) and you have such a sharp image.. I seem to fail on scenes with mine, and also a sigma lens, so well composed and detailed... love this

As you indicate, not the easiest subject to expose, Linda, but you've done a terrific job in capturing the loco and not washing out the exterior. A very nice balance of light in an image full of colour.
Excellent work.

Flash is so harsh and can so ruin the illuminative mood of the moment. You've overcome this to a good extent, Linda.
