An evening walk along South Queensferry, there was some driftwood.

I thought it made for an interesting shot, but there was something missing .

Was uploaded into Photoshop, the horizon straightened based on the land mass to the far side.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

firstly i'm no expert but my opninion for what its worth. i like the comp using the driftwood. i think i'd have used a slightly lower viewpoint to give it more dominance. i think its worth cropping the oof fg sand. you could add a alittle more contrast, selectively sharpen the bridge and fg with a layer mask. a slight boost to the saturation, thats a very individual preference though. and i'd clone the bird. lesley Smile

Thanks Lesley,

I've adjusted the levels in PS and it makes a big difference, i never though about cropping the sand though.

Thanks for the advice!

It's a great image, love the driftwood. I'd remove the support to the right, but otherwise perfect.

Really good composition. Maybe crop sand a little but that looks ok to me. You had good warm evening light but the image lacks a little colour and sparkle. I would expect your play in curves will have added a lot.
regards Ian

Some good depth to this....I can see why you took the shot and I think its a good effort...some work in pp as advised above would lift this methinks.
