Self portraits are a self indulgence - that's a given (and I don't care if you are Rembrandt Smile )-

I came to terms with me because :-

I've spent the last two days trying to get my 550EX to synchronise with the rest of my studio gear - not as easy as it sounds and I thank various folk who put me on the right track SEE HERE ....I've designed and made a cunning little plastic slip in to be used time and again Smile

However I could not expect my wife to sit in on the various tests for two days (Even if I did she wouldn't) so there was I shooting myself -

I think I've cracked the problem!

back to the point - as objective as I can be, I think this is quite amusing - sort of nutterish - alright insane if you like Smile -----See large - It's in the detail !!

Regards Dave

Excellent self-protrait. I was thinking of doing one of my own, but after this great shot I think I'll give it a miss!

Thanks all for your generous response - keith he's idling away on some secure perch - he knows when he's well off!

mmmh matt can think of fewer worse reasons for not going for it yourself Smile

One of the real successes of this last session was the consistent tight focus (shooting at f11 helps) -

For those who may be interested my method is to string an object from above at eye level vertically and back to front - just out of frame to the side - focus on the object - set to manual - swing the camera fractionally for framing - park your self with the object adjacent and level with your eyes and voila! no problem
