Third Rome photo, and back to one of the normal sites, the Vatican. St Peter's square was effectively an ice rink which only added to the vast beauty of the place, I was amazed. I toiled for quite some time deciding which one of my many photos taken at the Vatican to use for my first edit but this one, i think had the best impact.
During editing I saved various different versions but I kept finding bits I didn't like, for example the people in the foreground were far too distracting when in focus, so I blurred them out.
I am pretty satisfied with the result, but here it is for you people to ponder. Thank you for looking and all comments and critiques are very welcome.
Cheers
Matt

I like the idea of what you have done for the closest figures. But I find the very sudden transition from blur to sharp distracting. You win some, you lose some...

This is really nice and I like the effect but actually like having people in shot as it adds context! The idea of blurring them is a good one - maybe dodge them a bit as they are still quite dark compared to the lightness of the building which you have captured really well! I am intrigued as to what f stop you used?
Thanks everyone for all your response and comments. I see the point about the blurring, I'll give it tweak and see how it comes out. For Wilco, I used f11 for this shot and was pretty sharp from back-to-front.
Thanks again for all the comments and support.
Cheers
