Hi William

I really like this image and the way it uses shapes and shadows, but it is affected by lens distortion which gives it a very trapezoid shape as you haven't allowed mods I cannot upload a mod to demonstrate the difference correcting the distortion will create.

Give it a try and see the effect. By straightening the distortion you can also remove the lamppost tucked at the edge of the bridge which cleans up the lines of your bridge.

I entirely agree with Eric above and have in fact tried it out for myself and the result shows great improvement. The sun-bleached facade doesn't help and I suppose this is one of the downside of using a telephone to take pictures. Having said that you do seem to have an eye for composition so keep at photography but maybe use some better equipment.

As well as correcting the distortion I lightened the shadows beneath the bridge and removed a lot of the noise. A pity I am unable to show it to you!!!!!!!!!!!! I really cannot see why mods are disabled here as to me it is an esential part of critique - illustration the critiquer's suggestion.

I quite like the composition and distortion, but the exposure range has let you down. One of the problems with phone cameras. You needed to expose for the building in the background, then lighten the resulting under exposed foreground later.

I have uploaded a mod to show what a correction of verticals looks like, and Ive also toned down the brightness of the modern building. I also copied the upper floors and pasted over the lower, brighter floors.

You can leave the tilted verticals, which are caused when a wide angle lens is tilted up for dramatic effect, but in this case it works well straight.

regards
