Product shoot for a designer Sophie Adamson. It was a case of keeping things simple to show off the necklace and the hat.

Interesting and eye catching image. There is a lot of stuff to look at from the tattoo, her hair, eyes and lips plus the dress and decorations.
I don't understand your comment about keeping things simple!
If the intention is to show off the hat and necklace I'm not sure you have succeeded as there are just so many other things to look at. The necklace fades in the lace background.
Photographically it is mostly good, lovely skin tones and good and sharp around her eyes and face. Maybe a little less directional light or more reflected as the shadow from her nose is quite strong and her left eye a little dark. I don't mind the white reflections on her blue top as it shows off the shiny material.
Good picture but for me does not show off necklace at all and not really the hat.
There are my views, hope your get more comments,
regards
Ian

Very nice work.
I not sure about the eyes..
May be eye contact might work better.
You have nice tones and colours..
Very sharp clear great use of lightting.
Well done...

I have to agree with Ian re the simple bit - it's definitely not simple. I'm also a bit confused as to where the necklace is... Is the lace the necklace? Tongue

I think Alda is correct in that the front pieve of lace is the "necklace"

I think this model, the tattoos are meant to be, and are part of a style that being portrayed. The only thing thats throwing us us the necklace, which if it is the entire lace arrangement, would not thow us if we knew this was the actual piece (if it is of course)

So assuming it it, its not an easy shot with the height of the headdress.

I would be inclined to underexpose a little, - it brings detail into the various shiny pieces on the head and chest, - especially that pink skull.

The top is very close to the top, and is it me or has the model got an really long neck!

So mod loaded, as suggested, cropped to move model more to the left, and shortened her neck.

regards

Willie

Technically quite good but I'm not keen on her expression, even for an advert. A bit strained. The image is very complicated and whilst the hat is rather obvious. It is quite difficult to see the necklace at all. I find myself looking at the tatoos, especially on her arms.

A slightly toned background would also make the hat rather more prominent.

I'm not sure you have achieved what you set out to do. Simple would have been better.

Hi Guys,

Yes the lace is the necklace. Thank you for the mod though I think that looses some of the skin tone and makes her look a bit dark, maybe that's just me. Thank you too for the neck alterationI have never seen that done before. I don't play with things like that in my images. I keep my models as natural as I can, long necks and all ;p xxx
