originally this image was intended to be a conceptual image or commentary on the lightness and ebullience of youth, but as it was turning towards a levitation shot, I decided to keep it light and simple, just like the rarefied air and altitude depicted. Levitation trick photography was cool once, but it has been done to death, and at this point is a hollow pursuit. I think the theme of youth has survived though, with the presence of the balloons and the metaphor of aimless and carefree floating, getting somewhere but no idea where you are going. The title was borrowed from the novel by Paul Bowles.

An image which is rather uplifting in many ways. The thought of drifting freely with ones dreams, ideals and notions is a rather pleasurable thought.
