the flash exposure is not bad to me, but the light appears to be harsh, because harsh shadow is visible from the wall behind your subject, you might have bounced the light from the ceiling( if it is close enough ) or some small paper or something else could have been wrapped over the light to diffuse it, as well as the subject placement could be changed to minimize the shadow,

i like the color of the dress, but not sure with the pose, she is looking uncomfortable to me,

although it is just a thought,
