Again from the second time we sighted aurora, but earlier in the evening when we were at the beach at Uttakleiv, home to boulder field along the shoreline. Getting around the boulders in the dark with a tripod and the tide lapping at your feet made for an interesting time.

This evening we saw more of the red emission from oxygen atoms at higher altitude. Typically the bottom edge is at a height of 60 miles with the tops extending up to 120-200 miles.

Super image composition with interesting foreground as well as a magnificent capture of the aurora colours. Brilliant shot. Grin

Cheers all.

Adam - I think the novelty will wear off Blush We were lucky to have a good display on 3 nights out of the 7, the Sun can be unpredictable - as can the weather!

I have seen numerous shots of this phenomenon and all have been good. But this is the first real piece of photography....an outstanding composition which would look good under any circumstances...........but with that backdrop it becomes a photograph of real beauty. No contest for my award and applaud you on your skill
