This time, I tried to expose the celery correctly while still keeping the rest of the photo exposed properly. I used the clone tool and a black point to get rid of the sides of the lightbox. The green vase was almost not visible because it's quite dark, especially with the black point, so i selected it and brightened it.

Loved the concept and the items work well together.
I did you a mod.. hope you like it... All I did was change your bg to match the grayish tone around the baby breath..

A much better effort this time. As mentioned above theres an area around the small flowers that appears gray and not black and the mod has corrected this, along with the two white spots on the left side. Theres a few small areas to be cleaned up, at the bottom middle and at both ends of the celery.

Ive uploaded a mod. What I did was enlarge the image around the flowers; find the lightest grey area; used curves black dropper and clicked on it. This make the entire image darker, and I then cleaned up some of the spots I mentioned.

Then I added black canvas to the top and right sides to place the composition off centre, and added a border.

Let me know if your monitor shows the grey areas around the flowers, - its obvious to me on a calibrated monitor. if the mod looks wrong to you, or if you cant clearly see the grey around the flowers (straight edged areas), then you need to calibrate your monitor. If you switch between Dawnmichelles mod and mine, you should clearly see a dark grey background, and then a pure black background in my mod. It should jump out and be obvious.

You should calibrate, as you will not be seeing images correctly.

regards

Willie

A great improvement with better colour all round. The celery still looks just a little light - and it could be burnt in a little. Calibrated monitors are a help, indeed. Also remember that you need the colour to look as it will to others, but you may wish some images to look warmer than when taken, others cooler. Colur is personal and can depend o your eyes - so being absolutely 'correct' in technical terms does not always produce the most pleasing image.
