Just back from a short but enjoyable break in Cornwall. Will catch up with you all later.
A spectacular lilac opium poppy that appeared unexpectedly in my garden to my great delight. I had to Google to get its name, Violetta Blush.

Let me be the first to welcome you back! These images are lovely, and what a find in your garden, no wonder you were delighted. V2 is an interesting image and very well presented, however, V1 just "does it" for me!

Beautiful image, love v1.. What a perfect name too.....
The details and colours and the composition are wonderful.
What a beautiful image - love V1 against the black back-drop - great shot !
V1, very pleasing to the eye.
Great detail My vote today goes to V1
Really like theses 2 shots, love the colours and all the petal details , the black background is my fave. I uploaded a geranium last night can you have a look and ay waht you think?
A typical opium with its wonderful details
Good to see you back Pamela, hope you had a good trip. The background in V2 is so unusual but V1 is a stunner. It's amazing what appears in the garden, presumably courtesy of the birds!
like v1, v2's too in my face!!! pretty image well captured and composed...
What a stunning flower, Pamela, a wonderful colour and V.1 is presented so well. Not sure I go too much on V.2, though, too many hard lines behind such a beautiful soft poppy. Carol
Beautiful Pamela, love V1 its so pretty.
V1 is beautiful and gets my vote.
both superb, it looks like a bonnet in the thumbnail
What a beauty , caught my eye right away, wonderful detail and colour saturation , so well presented. V1 for me.
V1 for me, she stands out so elegantly. In V2 the cold blue drains her of colour a bit for my eye.
Gorgeous - colour, detail, presentation - - -
Superb detail in this very fine image.
Gorgeous imege, beautiful colours, light and detail. I prefer v1.
Just beautiful - and really nicely presented and composed - the black background with the radiant pink is superb.
Thanks to you all, it's good to be back.
I feel I may have chosen the wrong colour for V2's background, but thought I would run it by you. Agree with Moira.
SANDRA: I have the birds to thank, then.
two lovely shots
So delicate and pretty, version 1 for me.
No. 1 is quite gorgeous image as for No. 2 ~ I pass.
Gorgeous flower Pamela . No wonder you were pleased. Love the delicate colour and the frilly inner petals . Version one definitely love the black background xxxx
Beeeaaaauuuuuttttiiiiffffuuuuulllll! Lovely detail and pastel colours.
It's has to be V1 the colour, detail in the flower & the presentation are wonderful, but V2 really does not do it for me sorry
I find version 1 works best for me as it is easier on the eye. Version 2 is too much in your face.
A beautiful presentation Pamela, V1 for me,
So pretty! I tried to grow some of these - or something similar - a year or so ago - but the slugs got them. Happy slugs, at least! Carol
Excellent subtle detail rendition. V1 for me too Pamela.
Its V1 for me, so well positioned in the frame with nice natural colour. - gary
Definitely V1 for me, lovely colours and detail.
Thanks for the view of this lovely version-- would love to be growing it in my garden!
A striking Poppy, fabulous detail, v1 for me..
Super colours Pamela,with glorious light.
Nice shadows too.
what a beautiful bloom, love the frilly texture of the delicate petals and the black bg is best for me
Please forgive me for lack of comments, but lots of catching up to do here since coming back from holiday! A super image, Pamela, not sure about the blue background in V2, but V1 is gorgeous...a real cracker, super detail.
I appreciate your visits, votes and comments, and also your response to V2, it has been very helpful.
V1 is a real stunner Pamela, the black background works perfectly and you've made the most of the natural light
V1 for me Pamela, it's a beauty.
V1 is a super image Pamela - that green centre is such a lovely contrast to the Lilac petals and the detail is superb.
I can't quite get my head around V2 - sorry.
Excellent presentation ,wonderful light and Beautiful colour.

Glad you had a good trip Pamela. V1 is beautifully presented and the detail, colour tones and exposure is superb. I hope you don't mind my saying V2 to my eyes is Yuk! The colours just don't work.
Please speak to me again
The light and shadows and all the different shades of pink look great against the black b/g Pamela. It's definitely my favourite of the two.
A beautiful flower expertly photographed Pamela but I do prefer the more traditional V1.
Amazing images V1 stands out best for me, both great work
