Just got back from an enjoyable day in Durham. The food festival is currently on and I have to say, I like food. There were plenty of tasters to taste and gorgeous things to buy, in fact the car came home with the headlights pointing to the sky. The diet has definitely gone out of the window for today.

Todays upload is from our last trip to London, we went to London Zoo which I have always wanted to do.
As a kid I saw the zoo as a place to keep exotic pets that the neighbor's might not be impressed with if they were in our back garden. Now that I am a little older I see the importance of these establishments, after all the poachers are having a field day with the wild animals and no matter how hard we try to protect the wildlife they will always sadly find a way to do what they do.
Even though I am not overly keen on wild animals being cooped up in enclosures, I do feel it is the only way to ensure we keep them safe and prevent them from becoming extinct.
Anyway, enough of that, this photo was taken in the reptile house, this is where Gill will not enter, she absolutely hates snakes. I took a wander around and found quite a few opportunities for photos. I have a soft spot for Crocodiles and Alligators, not that I would want to give one a cuddle. I couldn't believe my luck when I spotted this fella lurking under some of foliage in his enclosure just waiting for anything or anyone to slip up and become his lunch.
I have a question, do you like playing cards? I love it, especially poker, although I wouldn't play cards if I was in the jungle, there's to many cheetahs and the guy in my photo today is pretty basic, he only plays snap.Grin

Thanks for looking and for any comments.

He's got a mean glint in his eye, Andy Smile. A great capture. By the way, I fully agree with Gill, I can't bear to even look at snakes Sad Carol

No, you can't get friendly with a crocodile
Don't be taken in by his welcome grin
