Took a trip over to Ashcott Heath a couple of days ago to see if I could get some shoots of the starlings that roost there in their thousands. Took this whilst waiting for them to arrive. The other shot is the best of those I took of their aerobatics.
Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for looking.

I say 'the other shot' 'cos I 've uploaded a second image as a before and after shot, but what happended to it and how on earth you access it - I have no idea!! Sorry folks don't like this new version and certainly don't like the filling in of the details and all those drop down but don't disappear dialogues - No thanks!
#2 is there but mousing over the number won't bring it up until your browser has loaded it from the server. If you click on the '2', the image will go blank until it's loaded, which gives you more of a clue about what's going on. This is actually the same as before the upgrade but the performance problems with V5 have made the problem more noticeable.
I think you have two very impressive shots, here. The sunset tones of #1 are a delight and who could fail to be moved by the cloud of birds in #2? I remember starlings flocking like that over Bradford when I was a child, though I doubt there were quite this many. Since then, all the buildings have been netted so you don't see this in our cities any more. At least it means there's less bird s**t on the pavements. ![]()
Blimey Dave - that's clever work for a before and after image
Joking.
Love both images - I know the area well. Countryfile showed the starlings from here on tonight's program - wonderful sight.
Brian.
Thanks for the kind comments you've left on these two. I'm most grateful... Dave
Thanks to Dave, Tony and Eric for their kind and encouraging words. Much appreciated... Dave
