A different model this time, from the same session....same thing again, single large-ish softbox, large fan for the hair movement and close in crop. A couple of different versions to compare.
Not sure these work as well, but she liked them, so will upload and see what you think.....
Jeeese! Johnny, you have a cue of 'em!! You're up to your pits in women!
I'm going for the colour versions again... great light etc, though I'd say a little skin powerdering would help with these. #1 and #3 work best for me.
Excellent work again my friend.
v1.. looks better, at least on my screen
Thanks very much Al! The skin has already had a fair bit of touch up....I can say this as she won't be on this site, but unfortunately for her, close up, her skin was a little pitted and "raised" shall we say (I dont' want to say spotty. She really is very pretty, but she had clearly had an outbreak, poor girl)). I am not entirely sure I could soften the skin much more without it looking unreal....I tried, but it looked a little strange. I pulled it back a little to make it look close.....but totally see what you are saying. I wish I was up to the pits with models....its the one thing I am struggling to find! It was very kind of the other one to model for me as we got talking while she was cutting my hair! lol!
Glad you like them though, I prefer the colour ones too I think.... cheers!
i like them immensly mate, top job
Cheers Dave, appreciate it!
Nice work Johnny - seems you have them queueing up to be photographed : )
I work with a model with similar skin to your model here, and would recommend using Portrait Professional. It's not expensive, and can be used a lightly or as heavily as you want toand then used as a layer to blend over the original if you need to), and your model will love you for it. Definately worth a trial...
V1 for me. A cracker....
Just looked through your port folio really good work and varied.. well done, with this portrait session I think I prefer the mono as to me (certainly hope you are right and she will not see these comments!) she has too much make up on, and has taken the edge away slightly especially on V1 as the fan has given a good movment to her hair...but good studio work
V1 for me as well Jonny, well done
Thank you guys, really appreciate the comments and all taken on board! Thanks!
Lillian, I agree, a lot of make up, but I suspect its because she wanted to hide those imperfections I talked about........
Andrew, I have looked into that and I think what puts me off it is the way they advertise it. I am not big into comprehensive manipulation on images, I like a more "natural" look (within limits, of course) and whenever I see their adverts, with their before and after images on them, the after never looks anything LIKE the before! lol! Its a stupid prejudice of mine, I know as I am pretty sure they are showing an extreme to sell it, but....don't know, it puts me off a bit. But will look into it more as I am sure I will encounter this again at some point, so thanks for the pointer!
Matty, thanks a lot fella!
Sweet, mono shot V5.
Love the idea with the coat, lighting is getting there Johnny
What a cracking portriat I like v 1 the best well done
Thanks guys, much appreciated!
Really wonderful viewed large.
v2 for me Johnny, all good just think the black and white version is a bit softer and more flattering.
Cheers Keith. Can see what you mean. Glad you like
V2 for me.
nice textures and the close crop works well
Beautiful and natural. I like version 3
Like the expression (V1) and the good details that the lighting has given you. Sorry I missed this
No worries Richard, there are a lot of images on here! lol! Glad you like it though. Thanks!
Just catching up Johnny and these are excellent, good work.
Thanks mate, no worries, glad for the support! Appreciated!
Number 1 for me stands out the most John...the lighting is much better I feel....a great angle with the slight tilt of her head producing a fabulous gaze with those wonderful blue eyes!
Much appreciated Geoff, glad you like it!
