Excellent! Possibly a hornet, but I think the colour is more like a wasp. Anyone know?

Cracking detailed shot !......my Collins book classes this as a 'German Wasp' (18mm long) & common & widespread; the 'Common Wasp'(17mm) is a bit darker, particularly on the 'face'.

A 'Hornet' (30mm) is a tawny brown, with much less black, so more like a 'Lancaster-bomber' ??????.Grin
