I live near somewhere with a water feature, and every summer they have water lillies there. I've tried before and failed to take decent shots of them. They seem to be quite hard to capture well. Anyway, here's another attempt from today.

Better viewed large, as always.

The soft lighting picks out the detail in the petals very well.

Thanks a lot everyone. Much appreciated. Fantastic response so far. Looks like I may well be uploading a few more shots from from today ! I have one or two more that I think are also quite nice.

Cheers,

Wow. My first ever Readers Choice award. I can't believe it. I'd like to thank my agent, my lovely wife for putting up with me through years of bad uploads. I'd like to thank my Son, my parents, and also Canon, without whom this would not have been possible.

Thank you thank you. I'll treasure it. (Walks away to applause and flowers thrown on stage) ;o)

Thanks all.

Simon.

Good reaction to the response, you can make it better of course. A wee tweek of the contrast and a straighter level will make a good image so much better.
Good work, keep trying harder, you're on a winner here I feel.
