Today just a Water Lily taken in Pollock Park, Glasgow.
I usually find water lilies quite difficult to capture,
so I'll let you judge this one.
Thank you all for votes for Baron, Donna, Lorraine & Spencer
and please don't blame Ronnie for photo of us girls as we didn't
have time to set up a tripod( we were going on tour) and I set my camera on AV instead of
Portrait. Don't know what settings other Canon users find best for
indoor photography.
Also an apology to mikbee for none of us showing our legs!
Kate:Tongue
V2 uploaded - no coloured border or caption. Lesson learned!
Thank you all for honest comments.

Sorry Kate, the yellow surround doesn't do your image any favours, but I like what you've done with the lily.

Beautiful picture of a water lilly, good composition and presentation, and i love the bubbles between the water and lilly.
Well done Kate.

I find bright heavy borders off-putting, & writing titles on images also a turn-off.
Maybe just me though....
Vote's for the beautiful flower.

Oh dear guess I got carried away discovering you can add alternative
coloured borders in Epz.
Must admit CC judges don't usually like names on images either.
I don't mind them on botanical images and a lot of Epz members put
captions on their images.

I have photographed that same water lily a few times in recent days but it has always been covered in funny wee insects so they got trashed.
You have a beauty of a shot though, Kate, and white flowers are not easiest to do justice to.......have have succeeded so well though.
Do agree with the others about the b/g yellow though.
Ronnie.

A fine water lily it is, I love the droplets! And I don't mind insects on them as long as they are frogsTongue

A lovely image of a water lily Kate, you controlled the whites very well and I love the little water bubbles. Not an easy subject. The yellow background may have been OK if perhaps you had chosen a much more muted shade when the little colour chart came up, takes a bit of trial and error.Smile

A beautiful lily Kate, the world renowned flower photographer Ronnie G would be proud of this one. The subtle white frame works well but I'm with the others in saying that the yellow backdrop is too prominant
