A water rail I saw from the Willow Hide at Slimbridge on a day out there with epzer gary_d on Easter Bank Holiday Monday. This shy bird was looking for food that had dropped out of the feeders

This is a bird I have heard of but don't recall having ever seen, Ed: so Slimbridge and you are delivering the goods for me.
Very interesting plumage colours and with subject posing to perfection.

A very fruitful day at Slimbridge with yet another great bird image.
He looks as if he's got two different coats on with all those colours.
