We visited Marsden Rocks at South Shields before heading inland the other day.
This is the ceaseless erosion that bit by bit is taking the cliffs away into the sea.
Those of you who know this coastline will remember a few years ago there was a hole in one of the isolated rock stacks that you could drive a double-decker bus through. Alas as is happening all over the world. The sea collapsed and made it's claim to it.
We cant grow land.
Thanks for looking and have a great day.

This bit of coastline has changed almost beyond recognition in the 35 years that I've known it. Strange to see it like this. Excellent crop and composition, I like that single stem on the right creating a counter-balance.

Superb image. I can feel every ripple even at normal magnification; viewed Large it's even better. Great colour too.

Were you at all tempted to remove the vapour trail?

Hi Bill.
In all honesty it did flash through my mind to clone it out, but then I thought it was there as a part of the whole, and in my opinion only, it did not appear to detract from what I am trying to portray with the image. In some respects it adds a certain poignancy to it, insofar as it I guess the global pollution partially caused by the ever increasing transport of today and climate change which is causing the erosion.
Thanks for your observation though and your comments. Well spotted.
What a great day you must have had! Super image, I can feel the breeze and the cold fresh air...
