This seemed a suitable subject for HDR, which, though adds a great degree of artificiality, does give a wonderful pallet to experiment with.

Shot with a Tamron 11-18mm, hence the striking distortion.

Its a marmite picture. Some are going to love it others will hate it.
I am a big fan of HDR and love playing around with photomatix on all sorts of images to see what results can be acheived.
I like this. The HDR effect has really bought out the texture in the tree trunk and on the ground.
You can easily envisage walking alongside the tree and up the path.

The slight negative it the saturation of the green, it could possible do with toning down a little in the canopy to make it less overbearing.

That photo is so soothing & relaxing. It makes me want to walk in and sit for a while-to daydream or whatever. The textures & colors are great (maybe a little heavy on the green-but what color should a forest be?). Keep up the good work with HDR! Duck
