Has anybody got any idea what this bird is.While I was on holiday in the Canary Islands there was a pair of these.Someone suggested they might have flown in from Africa

Great image. He really stands out from the background.

Nice picture. If you are very lucky you can see one of these in the southern counties of the UK in the summer. There was at least one on Skomer last summer.

This is a lovely shot, Sandy, with all that beautiful bird's attributes captures and a nice plain bg.
My first sighting of these was in Egypt.

I saw one of these Hoopoes while on holiday in Portugal but didn't get close enough to capture it on film . A great capture . One to be proud of .

This bird is a Hoopoo I think.
They used to fly around my house sometimes when I lived in Malta.
