Took this yesterday in the garden of Sam, having a wonderful time! The look on his face of pure innocence and enjoyment just blew me away....
This is what life is all about.....

beauty of a portrait but the toning kills it for me, why do you not like it in colour?

Thanks for your comments . the colour version just didn't seem the same for me. Too much background colour which was quite distracting, but if you like i will put it on tomorrow and see what you prefer

OK Clever-Cloggs woman, this just is not fair, you probably have THE best model ever... That face is just so adorable, I bet he's a right cheeky little chappy and the worst thing is that it should have far more attention, and not just for the obvious appeal. The composition just could not be any better, the placement of the the football is bang-on-the-money, the turned up hat is a stroke of pure genius, especially with that expression and the toning is just excellent because for me if this was in colour it would have been far too busy, as I know what those flowers look like, so sorry Stu your way off beam on this.
If I was you Wenz, I'd check out some printing labs and get this blown up and stick it straight on your wall, or better still on the ceiling of your ambulance, it would save the NHS thousands of pounds as people would feel instantley better. For me this and his birthday photo are my favourite ones of yours, and I love your flower shots, but this is just pure class.

CLIX

EDIT: see I knew the colour one wouldn't work as well, I was still typing this when you posted that...

Hi Wendy
This one has blown me away. This is your best yet.I think making this B/W is just the right thing to do and freezes a moment in time.I would take a look at pics of his grandfather and compare them and i bet they look alike.
Very well done on this one.
And a big kiss from me and the wife for Sam xx

James

Wonderful shot, I'm sure you'll treasure these moments. My youngest is now 2 weeks away from 18... only seems like yesterday.

I'd have been chuffed with this shot as well Wendy, that's a great expression. Don't know what software you're using, but perhaps a little selective colouring or a border or something might have lifted the clicks a little, but the shot is wonderful anyway.
