Another nice portrait Michelle - with similar problems to yesterday. Also It would be worth trying different backgrounds - in particular try not to use backgrounds that have very similar tonal density to the subject unless you are doing very high or low key shots - and also try not to have material visible in the background that will distract from the subject. I would crop this image to a fairly tight square format, select the portrait outline for sharpening and then select the inverse (background) and blur it even more.
You have hit the ground running and so I am pushing a little to help you along - enjoy your learning experience and why not try a portrait with eye contact soon! A

She is such a beautiful girl, Michelle, you are going to have fun with her as your model, hope she has the patience Smile I love this one, and you have received some excellent advice from Arthur, too. Carol

Another lovely shot !!!!.....I love the way the 'pose' avoids looking into the camera, it's just so very natural !!!!!

An opportunity for a 'mod' is like a red rag to a bull for me !!!!.....so I've had a play with the image, to try & give
it a bit more 'lift', & 'feeling' ?

I've cropped it tighter, more off the LH side so she's 'looking' into the picture more; then erased the untrusions in
the B/G & added gaussian blur to it !

Finally added a blurred vignette round the outer areas to add an 'aura', which also concentrates the eye more on
the subject.......& a thin black border to finish it off...........

See what you think ?.......regards....Keith.

Too heavy on the softening Michelle, though the skin tone is much better. What method are you using to do this, - lets know and perhaps we can chat about it. If you have the original, can you load it as a mod?
