I've become quite friendly with this bird since last weekend when I found it feeding amongst the flood debris. Here she is perched on a piece of driftwood against a backdrop of oil seed rape. It's not often a bird stays in one position to be able to choose your background but I was able to move positions to achieve this halo effect while it stood within a few metres watching me.

It's great when you can amuse the bird. A top notch image. The only way to improve this is to have all the back detail included. Wait! You did that in fact! Both images are first class. TG
