Taken this evening at St Georges Church on the Isle of Portland, Dorset.

The Church itself is quite unique in design, & the graveyard is testament to the skill of the famed stone masons of Portland.

The whole graveyard is scattered with Victorian monuments.

Have a great rest of weekend, apologies for being absent of late, I have a couple of trips to Stonehenge on the 15th for a National Trust photography walk & then for the 21st, for the Winter Solstice ,a sStonehenge itself is open to all on religious grounds on that date..pagans & Druids will be there in their thousands...so a good photogrqaphic opportunity I hope.

An extremely atmospheric, emotive and dramatic, and somewhat haunting photograph, superbly composed, exposed and presented.

Don't Blink!!! Obviously you didn't Gareth Wink because you got back home .... a very atmospheric image of what looks a like a rather unkempt graveyard, or is that just because it is wintertime ... Carol Grin

Hi Carol,
it is unkempt, it's a "nature graveyard"..everything is intentionally overgrown to give a home to wildlife.

Thanks for the comments & votes folks, tis a wonderful graveyard if your'e ever on the isle.
